Cancer Awareness Jerseys - Helping Communities Raise Money
How cancer awareness jerseys have helped one town raise money for a unique local cause.
In our hometown of Lowell, Lowell High School’s athletic department and volunteers within the Lowell community have spearheaded a movement that has raised nearly two million dollars for their local non-profit called Pink Arrow. Pink Arrow Pride made national news with its founding in 2008, being featured on the Today Show and being recognized as one of the very first cause games, that are now common in schools around the country.
Since our inception, RaizedUp has been proud to partner with Lowell to help make Pink Arrow a community event and continue to raise money for families impacted by cancer in the Lowell community.
Cancer Awareness Soccer Jerseys
Lowell’s Pink Arrow cancer awareness soccer jerseys in 2025 featured a sleek black base with bold hot pink accents that continue Lowell’s tradition of using pink in the uniform. The front and back use a striking chevron pattern that pulls the eye toward the number, which is outlined in pink for high contrast and visibility on the field. Pink ribbon patches on the sleeves reinforce the breast cancer awareness theme tying into the Pink Arrow tradition. Along the sides of the jersey, a vertical column of multicolored awareness ribbons represents many different cancers. All of our jerseys are built and designed around NFHS standards which meant they can be worn in actual games, as Lowell has always done. Coaches got a white jersey with their own names on the back.
Cancer Awareness Football Jerseys
Lowell’s Pink Arrow cancer awareness football jersey in 2025 featured a deep black base paired with bold hot pink accents. Black jerseys and uniforms are very trendy right now, and Lowell does like to switch it up once in a while. Most of their cancer awareness jerseys are a true pink or shade of pink, so changing it up once in a while keeps the concept fresh. The chevron striping across the chest adds movement and aggression while framing the numbers in high-contrast pink for clear visibility on the field. Pink ribbon patches on the sleeves and collar highlight the Pink Arrow cause and honor those impacted by breast cancer. Along the side panels, a vertical lineup of multicolored awareness ribbons represents many different cancer types.
Cancer Awareness Cheer Uniforms
The cheer program will wear fan jerseys, which are somewhat similar to the soccer jerseys and in this case had the same design. Fan jerseys are dryfit jerseys that are worn as replica jerseys and give a look of a game jersey without the added cost or weight.
This allows Lowell cheer to do their stunts and cheers on the sideline and have their own custom names and numbers just like the football team.
Cancer Awareness T-Shirts
The biggest item we do for cause games, and the biggest item at Lowell’s Pink Arrow games has always been the t-shirt. For the fans, it’s their ticket to the game. All of the kids wear them to school the day of the football game. It’s definitely a community thing.
The shirts also serve as uniforms for sports like tennis, golf, and cross country where those teams will wear those t-shirts before or during events on Pink Arrow week.
How Lowell Pink Arrow Has Raised More Money Through Apparel
Having an online store paired with their cause game.
Using t-shirts from their cause game uniform provider to help offset costs and have consistent fan wear.
Auctioning off jerseys after the game.
Fan jerseys so parents and fans can have a replica jersey to wear.
While Lowell’s Pink Arrow programs use pink, which is a prominent color for breast cancer awareness, their players play in honor of people fighting or who have fought any sort of cancer. There are a wide variety of colors that represent each type of cancer, over 100 types unfortunately.
